NHD Advice for Christmas Break
As you continue to work on your project it is my hope that you will see how this year’s theme helps you to understand how history happens and how it impacts the world we live in today. Congratulations, you have overcome one of the biggest obstacles in completing your NHD project, gathering research notes.
Some of you need to continue to research your topic following the suggestions noted in your Categories for Note Taking evaluation sheet. If you follow my instructions and the suggestions below I am confident you will reach a successful conclusion and produce a project worthy of all the time and effort you have put into it.
The next three weeks are crucial. Here is what you should focus on.
1. Revise you Thesis Statement, making sure that it includes a concise accurate description of historical context of your Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History, and consequences that came about as a result of the Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History
2. Write a draft of your Process Paper using NHD.org> contest>process paper (read the instructions that describe the main points of the paper). Use the sample I provided. Your process paper should be viewed as a marketing tool for your project. It should create interest in your project.
3. Work on your annotated bibliography. Your annotated bibliography is to be attached to your process paper. A rough draft or your process paper is due Jan 4, 2011. It is to include
1. A Title Page
2. The 500 word Paper
3. Your Annotated Bibliography
4. A rough draft of your design for your exhibit/web site. A rough sketch is due Jan. 4,2011. Follow the guidelines provided in the NHD Power point and in “Steps to Completing an NHD Project.”
